Tips on Using Your Pink Digital Camera for Night Photos

So you just bought your new pink digital camera and you’re probably very excited to use it. First things first, properly insert the memory card and the batteries into your camera! Figure out how to take a simple picture then you can probably move on to more advanced picture-taking. Don’t worry, though, as most digital camera menus and interfaces are very user-friendly and straightforward.

When you know the basics, it’s time for you to test your skill in doing nighttime photography. In reality, night photographs express a special something not normally seen in daytime photographs.

Most camera users take this for granted because of the flash option. Unfortunately, the flash actually makes the picture less attractive and less detailed especially in low-light situation. Actually, if your subject is far away, the flash won’t even work.

Here are some basic tips to help you get better at nighttime photography:

1. Your camera will mostly like have settings to enhance nighttime photography. If you’re not yet that familiar with it, try taking photos during dusk (when the sun has not yet completely left the sky). The added but faint light can make the photo more dramatic and include little details that are usually taken for granted.

2. Plan your photos before you shoot! Sometimes, the “perfect” opportunities only have present themselves in 5-10 minute periods. You must have an idea of the angle you’re going to take or the subject you’re going to use. Prepare beforehand and keep a small notebook just in case you forget.

3. It’s a common misconception that the professional photographers only take one shot of their desired subject. In reality, they take a multitude of shots and luckily for you, your pink digital camera has a setting to immediately delete shots which you do not like. Keep on taking so you can get to choose what to keep and what to dispose! Change the settings or change the position as you take in order to find the perfect shot!

4. Now, this is more for practicality but make sure you have other necessary supplies for nighttime photography. Bring a map, a compass, a flashlight, some food, a foldable chair and of course, a cellular phone. Also, bring extra batteries for your camera and your flashlight!
